Plans for the Girls NPL League for 2020-2021

The PSPL Girls High School NPL League is our top level league and advances teams to US Club Soccer's NPL Finals national championships.

The league also offers a Prem 2 division as well as Classic and Copa divisions.

But plans for the 2020-2021 season start dates will depend on other factors: the Girls High School soccer season across the state and on our Return to Play policies related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The state high school athletic association (WIAA) has pushed back the start of all fall high school sports to begin on Sept. 8. High School Girls soccer first games are set to kick off on Sept 18. At the same time, there is no guarantee that fall high school sports will receive a green light. They could be canceled.

The league has created two scenarios for the Girls NPL League based on the current information.

The first and most likely scenario is a 10-game season that starts late November and ends mid-March. It includes these dates:  

• Nov. 21-22 
• Dec. 5-6
• Dec. 12-13
• Jan. 30-31
• Feb. 6-7
• Feb. 20-21
• Feb 27-28
• Mar. 6-7
• Mar. 13-14
• Mar. 20-21 (make-up)

The second scenario would take place if high school soccer was shutdown for Fall 2020. It would include a 12-game season that would begin mid-October and would be organized in two blocks of six games - one block would end before Thanksgiving and the second block of games would begin Jan. 30 and end Mar. 13. 

For Washington Cup, the top eight teams from league standings will automatically qualify for the state cup Championship Finals, March 26-28 @ Ravensdale Park, Starfire Sports and surrounding fields.

Teams will be seeded into Gold, Silver and Bronze divisions. This is a knockout final and a one-weekend event. Teams, however, are guaranteed two games. Quarterfinal losers will play a consolation match.

WNPL Prem 1 & Prem 2 teams that paid a $200 deposit at the time of league registration will receive a voucher for WA Cup registration.
